Privacy Policy

The short version:most ToolBig tools — including every file converter and PDF, image and text utility — run entirely in your browser. The files and text you work with are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us. We don't require an account, and we don't sell your personal data.

Files and text you process

When you use a tool like PDF to JPG, Merge PDF, Image Compressor or JSON Formatter, the file or text you provide is read and processed locally on your device. It is not transmitted to us, and we never see, store or have access to its contents.

Tools that use a third-party service

A small number of tools need an external service to function, and we say so on the tool itself:

• Currency Converter requests current exchange rates from a public rates API (frankfurter.app). Only the currency pair you choose is sent to fetch a rate — the amount you enter is calculated in your browser and is not sent.
• OCR PDFruns text recognition locally, but the first run downloads an open-source language model (about 2 MB). That download is program data — your document is never uploaded.

Analytics

To understand which tools are useful and how the site performs, we use privacy-conscious analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Ahrefs Web Analytics. These collect aggregate, largely anonymous usage data (such as page views and popular tools). We do not use them to identify you personally, and we do not sell your data.

Advertising & cookies

We show ads through Google AdSense to keep ToolBig free. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads, and — where permitted — to personalise them based on your activity. You can manage or turn off personalised advertising in your Google Ad Settings, and opt out of many third-party ad cookies at aboutads.info. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings. For details on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see Google's policy.

Local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as light/dark mode and your recent searches and recently-viewed tools. This stays on your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Children

ToolBig is a general-audience utility site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
